Tampa Bay Fishing

Hello Anglers,

First of all I hope everyone had great Christmas and New Years holidays. Secondly, I want to thank everyone that fished with me in 2009, it was a terrific year and I saw a 34% increase in business. I truly do appreciate you choosing me and Reel Simple Fishing Adventures for your outings. Hopefully I will see you in 2010 and put you on the trophy fish you always wanted.
Fishing in December was good despite a few days of inclement weather. There were some real good Snook trips as well as a couple very good Grouper trips. January should be a good month as well if the weather cooperates. The Trout season opened back up and I expect to have a action packed month of good Trout fishing. We caught a lot of nice Trout in December. The other species that will be highlighted this month should be Grouper and Sheephead, both of which make great table fare. Snook will be harder to catch due to the water temps dropping but they will still be caught if your patient. Most of the Redfish caught will be on the small side which is typical for this time of year. The warm water discharge at the power plants should also give us anglers an opportunity to boat some nice Sharks and possibly a cruising Cobia. If your in it for the sport, the big Jack Crevalle are here in big numbers and offer more pull than most are ready for. Until next time, good luck and be safe on the water. Remember: don't let your kid be the one that got away, take them fishing.

Thanks again,
Capt. Ric Liles
